A company out of Heerenberg Holland is making a neat little bakbrommer ("box moped") called a CargoBee. The CargoBee is a 49 cc three-wheeled cargo carrier and the engine and semi-automatic transmission appear to be pulled right out of a Honda Super Cub.

The bike has quite a few options depending on your need and application. Their website even has a neat "build to suit" feature where you can add and subract the options you need.Three-wheeled cargo scooters like this appear to be very popular in the Scandinavian countries and I can see why.
I would think something like this would go over big in any urban area and especially Southeast Asia where so much of their inner city cargo is hauled around via scooters and motorcycles.

Lekker! But I would prefer a slightly bigger motor.
Oh MAN! I love it!
If it's got a cub motor, then we should be able to slide a 101cc engine in there from SOMEwhere, eh?
If I could go a solid 45-50mph on her, I'd be REAL happy. Well, that and if we could actually get them in the USA :( -Waaaa!
Well, they appear to be looking for dealers right now.
I'd love to see a dealer in Texas.
I love the build feature. I can totally trick out one to meet my needs. Of course, I wish there was another engine option. I'd love to translate their site and make it accessible to US and Canadian dealers.
They have buttons for other languages but they don't appear to work.
Trying to read the Dutch version makes me think of the Swedish Chef from The Muppets.
Tim...nice article, very interesting concept but, one error. Holland is not Scandinavian, Denmark, Sweden and, Norway are Scandinavian countries. My knowledge base...my wife is from Sweden
Thanks for the correction!
And here's Anon! And yes, Holland is not a Scandinavian country. Of course this CargoBee should have been electric, with solar panels. In the Netherlands bussineses get a 15% eco-tax deduction if you purchase an electric vehicle.
I went back a re-read the post. I never actually said that Holland is a Scandinavian country. I said that the CargoBee is made in Holland and that vehicles like this are popular in Scandinavian countries. I also postulated that the CargoBee might be popular in Southeast Asia, so before anyone points it out, I know that Holland is not in Southeast Asia either. :D
I wonder if it' a genuine Japanese motor? Taiwanese would be cool, too.
I definitely wouldn't want one of those Chinese Cub knock-off motors in there. (Not unless the whole bike costs less than $1,000).
